| A Shark Swimming around your Liferaft | |
A
shark swimming around your liferaft probably has no idea that there's food
inside. It's attracted because of the fish that tend to loiter near
you. You don't have to drive off every shark you see - in some waters
you can count on being circled all the time.Try hitting them on the snout with a paddle, or on the top of the head just behind the eyes. Next best is to poke them with your knife or spear. Survivors reported that most sharks rubbed their liferaft near the edges - bad news because their skin is like sandpaper. Is suggested floating blankets or something similar around the liferaft to increase the area of its shadow. |
